Today, I want to share with you three mindset habits to help you succeed in your business. Having the right mindset is essential for success.
Unfortunately, most people skip over or try to shortcut it. When you shortcut your mindset, you’re not going to have the success you are wanting and thriving for in your business.
((Listen to the Podcast below))
#1 Failing is Learning
The first thing is to replace the word failing with learning. Many times we don’t do something because we are afraid to fail. But why are we afraid to fail? We’re afraid of how we’re going to be perceived by other people when we fail.
It’s not the failing that sucks. It’s what other people are going to think about you. There’s no one in your life whose opinion matters enough to prohibit your success.
That is self-preservation or trying to preserve your self-image. And the successful people are the people that don’t give a crap what other people think about them. This leads us into the second mindset habit.
#2 Stop Seeking People’s Approval
Mindset habit number two is to stop seeking other people’s approval. It’s not worth it. We shouldn’t care about what others think about us. Not the way we look, the way people perceive us, whether we’re successful or failures.
We are who we are and who we’re going to be. And the only way to get to what we want to be is to not worry about what other people think.
#3 Value the Process over the End Result
The final mindset habit is to value the process over the end result. If you’re trying to do something in your business that will propel the needle and get you to move forward, you want to value the process.
The Process Includes:
- Idea or concept
- Plan
- Action steps
- Execution
You want to value the process versus the result because when you try something new, the odds are you’re not going to have the result you wanted.
For example, I can’t tell you how many sales funnels or marketing campaigns I launched that fell flat on their face.
It’s easy to take it personally when things fail. You say to yourself that you are not good enough because it doesn’t work. It rarely happens on the first try. You have to give yourself grace.
When you go through the process and fail, it usually prevents you from taking that action again. But that action is what you need to gain the results and the success that you need.
So, again, number three is to enjoy the journey rather than the result. And if the results are not there, you tweak, test, and repeat until you get something that is going to work.
